BBC teach resources (KS3,4&5)
Making use of archive footage from the award-winning 2018 documentary Stephen: The Murder that Changed a Nation and featuring interviews with Stuart Lawrence, former secondary school teacher and younger brother of Stephen, these BBC Teach films:
- explore attitudes towards identity, diversity and immigration in British society before the murder of Stephen Lawrence,
- examine the effect that institutional racism had on the investigation into the case, and
- explore the public inquiry into the failures of the original investigation and the changes in the law that mean suspects can be retried.
