Primary (KS2)
Journey through the seven strands of our Curriculum with Stephen at the heart of topics. Children aged 7-11 years can enjoy, learn and engage in how Stephen was just like us.
Special. We are all unique in our own way. Let’s look at how!
Talents. What are we good at? Celebrate your strengths!
Education. Why is school important? What do I want to be?
Positive role models. Who do you look up to?
Hope. There is always hope for change. Kindness and friendship matter.
Equity. Respect, fairness, racism, discrimination, homophobia -What can you do?
Never forget. Learn about Stephen’s family, friendships and how Stephen was the same as us. Stephen should never be forgotten.
We look at black history throughout the year, including Windrush and the Partition.
Celebrating and understanding the history of the children in our classrooms is important in moving forward. We all need to know where we came from.
Learn about black inventors, authors, scientists, mathematicians! Find out and enjoy the stories of inspirational black Tudors and Romans as part of the Primary Curriculum!
Assemblies on ‘Kindness’ ‘Discrimination’ and ‘Staying true to yourself’ are included in this section.
Our aim is to encourage children to discuss how they contribute to living in a fair and just society.
