Unheard Voices - Having Challenging Conversations
Unheard Voices - Having Challenging Conversation
Having Challenging Conversations is a resource to help early career professionals and students to manage microaggressions in the workplace, to help managers to listen to feedback, and course leaders to facilitate these tough conversations.
Having a framework to assist with raising issues like racism, misogyny and homophobia isn’t an answer, but it can help.
Having Challenging Conversations is from Marsha Ramroop’s book Building Inclusion: Practical Guide to Inclusion in Architecture & the Built Environment, published by Routledge and available in August. Pre-order your copy from 22 Apr, Stephen Lawrence Day, on www.buidlinginclusion.info
Empowering Through Effective Communication OR Fostering Confidence and Articulation
ESB’s Oracy Workshop initiative is dedicated to empowering young people from diverse backgrounds to communicate confidently and effectively. Regardless of ability or background, the mission is to instil self-esteem and confidence in even the most apprehensive participants. By providing tailored support and understanding, enabling learners to overcome barriers and unlock their communication potential.
At the heart of ESB’s approach is the belief that everyone has the ability to become a confident and articulate communicator. Through engaging workshops and personalised guidance, participants are encouraged to express themselves with clarity and conviction in any situation. By nurturing confidence and articulation, ESB’s resources empower young people to deliver their message with impact and authenticity.

Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation – Social Media Toolkit / Pledge Kit
This year on 22nd April 2023, the 30th anniversary of Stephen’s death, our goal is to ensure that the next 30 years look different from the last. We believe that meaningful change starts with tangible actions. If we each commit to taking one action on Stephen Lawrence Day that will positively impact the lives of young people from marginalised backgrounds, together we can honour Stephen’s life and legacy, and build a fairer, kinder and more equitable society in his name.
