Celebrate your special occasion by helping change the lives of homeless young people. Whether this is through your wedding, civil partnership, birthday, anniversary, retirement or an important milestone, we are here to help you plan with our resources below.
Ways you can support Stephen Lawrence Day through your celebration
- Plan a party to celebrate your big day and consider how you can ask for donations at the event – could you host some games or competitions in exchange for suggested donations to take part?
- Set up a JustGiving page and ask friends, family and colleagues to make a donation to Stephen Lawrence Day instead of giving a gift.
- Set up a birthday fundraiser on Facebook to easily ask for donations – you might get some unexpected donations!
- Add donations to Stephen Lawrence Day as one of the options on your wedding/civil partnership gift list.
- Add some decoration to your party by downloading our Stephen Lawrence Day bunting, cake flags and ingredients cards.
- Ask us to send you some Stephen Lawrence Day balloons.
- Give our Stephen Lawrence Day celebration pin badges as wedding/civil partnership favours or ask for a donation at a party.
- Hold a collection at your event using our free Stephen Lawrence Day collection tins or Gift Aid envelopes.
- Use your wedding speech or an opportunity at your celebration event to talk about Stephen Lawrence Day work and where their donations will go.
- Enjoy your celebration knowing you are doing something amazing at the same time!

Stephen's Story
Stephen Lawrence was a young man with aspirations of becoming an architect, whose life was tragically cut short in a racially motivated attack on April 22, 1993. His story has become a symbol in the fight against racial injustice. The foundation was established to continue his legacy by promoting positive change in communities and providing opportunities for young people to thrive.

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We strive to create a society where everyone, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to succeed. Our programs and initiatives are designed to break down barriers and promote inclusivity in all aspects of life.
Empowering the Next Generation
The SLDF empowers young individuals by providing access to educational resources, career opportunities, and platforms to voice their experiences.
