Stephen Lawrence Day takes place on April 22nd every year, on the anniversary of Stephen’s death. A national moment of reflection and a call to action. Each year, we honour Stephen’s life by inspiring individuals, schools, and communities to drive change. Stephen Lawrence Day is more than remembrance, it’s a day to celebrate progress, challenge injustice, and empower young people to imagine their futures. We provide schools, workplaces, and individuals with resources and inspiration to participate meaningfully.

On Stephen Lawrence Day, @bwre_official in partnership with the SLDF hosted a roundtable event, bringing together inspiring voices and ideas based around inclusion within the built environment, the issues we are facing as a community and possible ways in which we can bridge the gap.
We were deeply honoured to be joined by our Chair of Trustees & more importantly Stephen’s Mum, @dlawrenceobe , whose presence made the day even more meaningful.
This is just the beginning, the first of many. We are committed to creating more spaces to support, celebrate, and elevate the brilliant Black women shaping the future of real estate.

Gareth Whitmarsh joins the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation for our Career Series 🧡
With over 25 years of experience in land agency and development, Gareth Whitmarsh is a Chartered Surveyor and the Property Director at LocatED. From leading major residential-led developments to securing land for over 3,500 homes, his work has shaped communities across London and the South East.
Since joining LocatED at its inception, Gareth has overseen more than 250 acquisitions and generated around £150 million in disposal income. He also heads up the Asset Management team, managing a portfolio of 80 properties. Gareth’s journey shows how vision and leadership can help transform the built environment for future generations.

Now thriving in her second year of college studying hairdressing, she’s supporting her family, gearing up for her driving test, and showing incredible determination every day. ⭐️
