Baroness Doreen Lawrence was proud to attend the London College of Fashion MA26 showcase at London Fashion Week, where the work of MA Fashion Design Technology (Menswear) and MA Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear) postgraduate students was presented on-schedule.
Held at The Chancery Rosewood, the collections were brought to life across both a live catwalk and an immersive showroom space — allowing guests to experience the creativity, technical excellence and cultural storytelling up close.
The level of talent on display was exceptional. From tailoring and innovation to identity and craftsmanship, this is where the next generation of global fashion leaders are emerging.
We were proud to stand alongside London College of Fashion at UAL @lcflondon_ particularly as together with adidas we recently awarded four Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation supported by adidas Scholarships.
These scholarships do more than fund study. They help remove barriers, nurture potential and give young people the freedom to step confidently into who they are becoming.
Stephen’s legacy continues to open doors and create space for talent that deserves to be seen, heard and supported.

📢 Calling all education colleagues
Our new Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation classroom resources are now live on our website. Could you help us spread the word?
🧡 Ready-to-use lesson content for EYFS to Key Stage 4
These free, age-appropriate resources support teachers to share Stephen’s story, while exploring themes of racism and anti-racism, justice, social action, and fairness. For older students, Stephen’s story is also an important part of modern British history, helping young people understand how his death shaped national conversations about racism, justice and institutional accountability.
As schools plan ahead, we hope these resources will support lessons marking Stephen Lawrence Day (22 April), or sit within existing PSHE, Citizenship or History curriculum plans across the year.

We are also inviting more schools to join our Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation Ambassador Schools Network - a growing community of schools committed to embedding equity, inclusion and social justice through education.
📩 If you’d like to find out more about the resources or becoming an Ambassador School, please get in touch.
Thank you for helping us ensure Stephen’s story continues to inspire future generations.

We are deeply saddened to learn that 20 year old Khaleed Oladipo, a cybersecurity student at De Montfort University @dmuleicester, has been fatally stabbed in Leicester. Khaleed was described by his family as a deeply loved son, brother, uncle, boyfriend and friend whose life was full of promise.
This devastating loss is a painful reminder of the urgent need to protect young people and invest in safer communities, stronger support systems and real opportunities for the next generation.
At the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation, we believe every young person deserves safety, dignity and the chance to build a hopeful future. Our thoughts are with Khaleed’s family, friends and all those affected by this tragedy.

Right now, 91% of school governors identify as being from a White background, and 90% are over the age of 40 (NGA). More diversity is needed to ensure that governing boards represent communities they serve.
This National School Governors` Awareness Day, education charity Governors for Schools will host a `Become a school governor` webinar for anyone who wants to find out more about the role and how to get involved.
You don’t need an education background - just curiosity and a desire to support children and young people.
👉 Join the webinar at 1pm on 12th February and find out if school governance could be right for you: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/7417688229988/WN_uXFytPL2SuKILPr5zalZOw

Education has never mattered more.
Teacher and Educational Consultant Ziggy Moore highlights an important truth. The world young people are growing up in today is very different to that of previous generations. Pathways that once existed have changed, and the future of work is being reshaped by technology, automation and new industries.
At the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation, we believe education is not just about qualifications. It is about access, confidence, guidance and real opportunity. It is about giving young people the tools to navigate change, build resilience and move forward with purpose.
When young people are supported to learn, grow and explore what is possible, they are better prepared to shape their own futures rather than inherit the limitations of the past.
This is why our work across classrooms, communities and careers remains essential. Because knowledge still changes everything.

Belief has the power to change everything.
When young people are encouraged to aim high, to trust their potential and to believe that opportunity is within reach, it can shape the course of their lives. Confidence grows when doors are opened, voices are heard and aspirations are met with real support.
At the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation, we work to create pathways that help young people access education, careers and opportunity, so that ambition is not limited by circumstance.
If you believe in helping young people reach their goals and build brighter futures, consider making a donation to support our work across classrooms, communities and careers.
